I'm a visual artist. My creative energy bleeds from one medium into another, but photography is my favorite medium to share. Since I was a little girl, I've always seen things in a cinematic way, romanticized disrepair and the mundane, and obsessed over details.  Having creative control behind the camera allows me to say, "This is how I see you".

Creative control in the moments leading up to squeezing the shutter make up the other half of my creative process - sourcing unique and often vintage wardrobe, selecting an exciting location, building lighting layer by layer, and crafting an atmosphere for my subjects to slip into their most confident, dynamic selves.

"When I say I want to photograph someone, what it really means is that I'd like to know them. Anyone I know I photograph." -Annie Leibovitz

Playful. Bold. Compelling.

I have a degree in communication studies from Texas Christian University, and I focused on visual, interpersonal, and nonverbal communication. I studied conflict, relationships, film, psychology, and I took every art class I had time for. I became adept at interviewing, and developed a writing style that pulled from creative fiction that I loved and took on the focus and structure of the legal studies I was doing too. I pull from all these skill sets and knowledge bases as I plan sessions. I interview clients with warmth but also targeted focus to understand who they are inside and how I can capture their image and create artwork that makes them feel truly seen. I meticulously plan lighting, composition, color palette, and wardrobe all to create a feeling, and an image that lingers in your mind long after its gone. Portraiture can be an amazing tool not only for feeling amazing and looking great, but exploring your persona and style creatively. Each session includes a consultation where we'll discuss styling and any concerns to plan the perfect session.
